Elevating Eagle Spirit: Lake Country Christian School Celebrates the Opening of the Tiger Gage Rohus Spirit Facility

NEWS RELEASE

FORT WORTH, October 23, 2024 – The opening of the Tiger Gage Rohus Spirit Facility, known as the TGR, was celebrated before Friday night’s homecoming game at Eagle Stadium on the campus of Lake Country Christian School. The building is named in memory of Tiger Rohus, LCCS Class of 2011, who lost his battle with cystic fibrosis in 2013. Head of School Dr. Justin Jordan led a special dedication followed by an official ribbon-cutting by Tiger’s father, Rickey Rohus.

Construction began on the 4995 sq. ft. facility in 2023. In addition to adding concession stands and restrooms on the stadium’s west end, it includes a permanent practice facility and locker rooms for LCCS cheer teams. This addition will allow the teams’ practice schedules to continue on campus throughout the year.

LCCS Head Cheer Coach Shannon Duffy shares, “It’s not just an investment in infrastructure but in the future of our athletes and the program’s long-term growth.” Having coached the high school team to six national titles, she is excited about gaining a dedicated space in which her student-athletes will train and collaborate. Additionally, LCCS Head of School Dr. Justin Jordan notes the TGR sets LCCS apart in the Christian School landscape. “Not only do we need the space for growth in enrollment and facilities, but to make a Christian impact on the world of cheer.”

Lake Country Christian School was established in 1980. It is a fully accredited private Christian School serving PK-12 in northwest Fort Worth. The Varsity Cheer and Talon Crew are six-time FCC National Champions (2019-2024) and four-time TAPPS State Champions (2019-2021, 2023). Learn more about LCCS at https://www.lccs.org.
